What is National Digital Literacy Mission (NDLM)?
The Digital Saksharata Abhiyan (DISHA) or National Digital Literacy Mission (NDLM) is a flagship scheme of Government of India. The Scheme is formulated to impart IT training to 52.5 lakh persons, including Anganwadi and ASHA workers and authorized ration dealers in all States and Union Territories across the country.
What is the vision of this scheme?
The NDLM scheme is envisaged to train the non-IT literate citizens to become IT literate so that they could effectively participate in the democratic and development process and also enhance their livelihood.
What are the benefits of training under NDLM?
- The trainee will become IT literate person
- Communication through email, the internet, SMS, and other electronic ways will be easy for him
- He will become Mobile, Tablet or Computer friendly
- Payment/Transaction of Money could be done easily after this training
- Digital India mission of government will become successful from this contribution
Who is eligible to get the training under NDLM?
- Any person who is non-IT literate or Literate
- Age Group-14 to 60 Years
How long is the training duration?
Total Training Hours is 20 Hrs which has to be completed in minimum 10 days or maximum 30 days
Is there any fee for the training?
It is free for SC/ST/BPL households but Rs. 125/- is payable by General Category trainees
Where can we get the training under NDLM?
Anyone who is interested in the training could go to the nearest Common Service Center (CSC)/Training Center and get himself/herself enrolled into it.
Further, NDLM 2.0 by the name PMRLDC with a budget of Rs. 2351.38 Crore, approved by Union Cabinet.
